"J. Donald Capra, MD, came to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in 1997 from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. At Southwestern, he served as professor of microbiology and internal medical medicine and also held the Edwin L. Cox Distinguished Chair in Immunology and Genetics. He joined the Southwestern staff in 1974 and was director of the Molecular Immunology Center. A native of Vermont, Capra received his bachelor's degree in chemistry and as well as his medical degree from the University of Vermont. He has held research fellowships at the National Institutes of Health and at Rockefeller University. Capra was also professor of microbiology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine at the City University of New York. Dr. Capra currently serves as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center."
