This image is from the short film Geri's Game for which Pixar was awarded an Academy Award in 1997. The film project was created as a testbed for some new technology that we believed could enhance our ability to tell stories containing human characters. Much of that technology has since been put to use in our feature films A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2.
