A three module MALEO spacecraft descends to the lunar surface. The entire assembly is built in Earth orbit using a Modular Assembly in Low Earth Orbit (MALEO) technology inherited from the International Space Station (ISS), checked out and then flown to the moon using a special propulsion system that is in the background. The modules can sustain the permanent base building activities of three astronauts over a period of six months. It contains a habitation, laboratory and power module connected together by three nodes that house an airlock, a command and control cockpit, and a hygiene and waste management unit.
